A review of the institute's own experimental work, and its subject is named throughout as Chondrolux (Хондролюкс), not the cartilage polypeptide complex in general. Its conclusion claims three things for it: tissue-specific stimulation of cartilage and bone explant growth in organotypic cultures from both young and old rats; an osteoprotective effect normalising bone mineral density in ovariectomy-induced experimental osteoporosis; and preservation of articular cartilage structure after trauma, attributed to restored chondrocyte and matrix metabolism with reduced surrounding inflammation. It reports no new experiment of its own.

A narrative review with no protocol or search strategy, collecting the originating institute's own animal and culture work — all three authors are at the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology, and every result it reports is that programme's. It declares no sponsor support and no conflict of interest. The organotypic-culture result it summarises is also reported in pmid-26390619; the osteoporosis and post-traumatic cartilage models appear only as this review describes them, their primary reports being Russian-language and not indexed.
