Corticosteroid-impairment of healing and gastric pentadecapeptide BPC-157 creams in burned mice

Sikiric P, Seiwerth S, Mise S, Staresinic M, Zarkovic N, et al. · Burns

Preclinicalcounts toward this tier

Burn healing improved on both histology and tensiometry and the corticosteroid impairment was counteracted; BPC-157 also attenuated burn-related gastric lesions and, in splenic-cell assay at day 21, returned corticosteroid-suppressed cell reactivity to healthy-control values.

Population
Mice with deep partial-thickness burns over 20% of the back, followed 21 days, with or without 6α-methylprednisolone
Intervention
Topical BPC-157 cream at three concentrations
Comparator
Neutral cream, no treatment, and corticosteroid alone
Limitations
Originating network; the immunosuppression-reversal finding rests on a single ex vivo assay and has not been reproduced.
