Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
Shortened population-doubling time in both normal and irradiated lines. Irradiated fibroblasts given GHK-Cu doubled at approximately the rate of untreated normal controls, and produced significantly more bFGF and VEGF early after exposure.
- Population
- Primary human dermal fibroblasts explanted from patients irradiated for head-and-neck cancer, and non-irradiated controls
- Intervention
- GHK-Cu 1 nM in serum- and growth-factor-free media
- Comparator
- Untreated cells of the same lines
- Limitations
- Cell counts and secreted growth factors only; no matrix or tissue outcome, and the matching in-vivo irradiated-wound experiment (pmid-23744835) was null.
