Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
Faster wound contraction with higher granulation-tissue collagen, uronic acid, protein and DNA, and higher skin glutathione and ascorbate than either control. Histology showed earlier epithelialisation and more activated fibroblasts and mast cells.
- Population
- Streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats with excisional wounds
- Intervention
- Biotinylated GHK incorporated into a collagen matrix, applied topically
- Comparator
- Plain collagen film and untreated wounds
- Limitations
- Biotinylated GHK in a collagen carrier, not free GHK-Cu; the carrier arm improves on untreated, so the peptide's separate contribution is the narrower comparison.
