A therapeutic approach for diabetic wound healing using biotinylated GHK incorporated collagen matrices

Arul V, Kartha R, Jayakumar R · Life Sciences

Preclinicalcounts toward this tier

Faster wound contraction with higher granulation-tissue collagen, uronic acid, protein and DNA, and higher skin glutathione and ascorbate than either control. Histology showed earlier epithelialisation and more activated fibroblasts and mast cells.

Population
Streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats with excisional wounds
Intervention
Biotinylated GHK incorporated into a collagen matrix, applied topically
Comparator
Plain collagen film and untreated wounds
Limitations
Biotinylated GHK in a collagen carrier, not free GHK-Cu; the carrier arm improves on untreated, so the peptide's separate contribution is the narrower comparison.
