Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
Both preparations were osteoprotective: given before ovariectomy they blunted the fall in bone mineral density, and given after it they raised density that had already fallen.
- Population
- Ovariectomised rats, an experimental model of post-menopausal osteoporosis
- Intervention
- A preparation based on cartilaginous tissue extract — the Sigumir substance — and the substance T-31
- Comparator
- Untreated ovariectomised rats
- Limitations
- Bone mineral density, not cartilage; no doses, group sizes or effect sizes in the indexed abstract; Russian-language institute-linked journal and the full text was not retrievable, so the abstract's ranking of the two preparations is not recorded here.
