Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
Increased keratinocyte proliferation; basal cells became cuboidal, and integrin α6 and β1, p63 and PCNA positivity all rose, confirmed by western blot. The authors read the p63 rise as support for basal stem-cell survival.
- Population
- Monolayer human keratinocytes and three-dimensional skin-equivalent models
- Intervention
- Copper-GHK added to culture
- Comparator
- Untreated cultures and skin equivalents
- Limitations
- Epidermal, not mesenchymal or chondral. Marker expression in a skin equivalent, with no functional repair endpoint.
