Modulatory effect of gastric pentadecapeptide BPC 157 on angiogenesis in muscle and tendon healing

No direct angiogenic effect appeared in cell culture; in the injured animals BPC 157 raised VEGF expression and vessel markers, placing the angiogenic effect downstream of injury rather than in the peptide acting on endothelium alone.
