Sulforaphane inhibits proliferation by causing cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase in rabbit articular chondrocytes

Jeong HJ, Yu SM, Jung JC, Kim SJ · Molecular Medicine Reports

Preclinicalcounts toward this tier

Arrested chondrocyte proliferation at G2/M. The cell-cycle effects that make sulforaphane interesting in cancer research are not obviously wanted in a tissue that repairs slowly and has few cells to spare.

Population
Rabbit articular chondrocytes
Intervention
Sulforaphane
Comparator
Untreated chondrocytes
Limitations
Rabbit cells, high concentrations, no functional cartilage endpoint.
