NULL at ten times the Timmers dose. Insulin sensitivity by clamp — the primary outcome — deteriorated insignificantly in both arms. Endogenous glucose production, glucose turnover and oxidation, blood pressure, resting energy expenditure, lipid oxidation, ectopic and visceral fat, and inflammatory and metabolic biomarkers were all unchanged. The authors wrote that the result 'raises doubt about the justification of resveratrol as a human nutritional supplement in metabolic disorders'.
