Kumar S, Sugihara F, Suzuki K, Inoue N, Venkateswarathirukumara S · Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture

Promisingcounts toward this tier

Both the porcine and the bovine peptide arms reduced WOMAC and VAS scores and improved quality of life, while the placebo arm's endpoint indices were unchanged. Two source materials tested against one placebo in a single trial, which is rare in this literature.

Population
Adults with osteoarthritis, 13 weeks
Intervention
Porcine and bovine collagen peptide, separate arms
Comparator
Placebo
Limitations
Group sizes and doses are not stated in the abstract, and no funding statement was available in the indexed record. Thirteen weeks, symptom scores only. Reporting each arm as improved against its own baseline while placebo did not is a weaker claim than a between-group comparison.
