Promisingcounts toward this tier
Isometric training significantly improved quadriceps strength, pain (VAS), and WOMAC function versus control (p<0.05) after 5 weeks. Isometrics are a viable low-tech entry point when joint-angle-specific loading is needed.
- Population
- 42 outpatients aged 40-65 with knee OA
- Intervention
- Isometric quadriceps program (quad sets, straight-leg raise, hip adduction) 5 days/week for 5 weeks
- Comparator
- No-exercise control
- Limitations
- Small single-center trial, no active comparator, short duration, no blinding of participants.
