cDNA microarray identified the growth hormone receptor as one of the most strongly upregulated genes; BPC 157 raised it dose- and time-dependently at mRNA and protein level, and adding growth hormone then increased fibroblast proliferation and PCNA expression with time-dependent JAK2 activation.

- Cell culture only; an independent Taiwanese group (Chang Gung University), but the receptor-upregulation finding has not been reproduced in vivo by anyone.
