Promisingcounts toward this tier
Hair count rose by 52.6 on 100 mg/mL and 71.5 on 50 mg/mL against 9.6 on placebo. Only the 50 mg/mL ratio-of-change reached significance versus placebo (2.38 vs 1.21, p<0.05), and hair length and thickness did not differ between groups at 6 months. No adverse events.
- Population
- 45 men with pattern hair loss
- Intervention
- ALAVAX (5-aminolevulinic acid plus GHK peptide) at 100 or 50 mg/mL once daily for 6 months
- Comparator
- Placebo
- Limitations
- 15 per arm. A combination product, so GHK's own contribution is not separable, and the higher dose performed worse than the lower — no dose-response.
