The gamma-cyclodextrin formulation gave the highest plasma curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and total curcuminoids, at 39-fold the total-curcuminoid AUC of the unformulated extract; the phytosome led only on bisdemethoxycurcumin.

Total curcuminoids are measured after deconjugation, so the figure describes conjugates rather than active free curcumin.
