Collagen proteins produced far higher plasma glycine peaks than dairy (683 vs 260 umol/L, p < .0001); dairy gave higher leucine. Bone broth was the weakest tested source. Shows bioavailability of collagen amino acids, not any joint benefit.

- Healthy recreationally active males; acute feeding study with 180-min serial blood sampling
- Intervention
- 20 g servings of various dairy and collagen proteins, or 300 mL bone broth, after an overnight fast
- Limitations
- Small acute pharmacokinetic study; abstract does not describe randomization; surrogate (plasma amino acids) only.
