The neurogenic differentiation markers Nestin, GAP43, beta-tubulin III and doublecortin rose 1.6 to 1.8-fold at the mRNA level with matching protein by immunofluorescence. Molecular modelling proposed binding to the DNA-interacting sites of histones H1/3 and H1/6 as an epigenetic mechanism.
