Remie CME, Roumans KHM, Moonen MPB, Connell NJ, Havekes B, Mevenkamp J · The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition

Promisingcounts toward this tier

Fat-free mass rose slightly (62.7% versus 61.3%, p=0.02) and muscle acetylcarnitine rose (4,558 versus 3,025 pmol/mg dry weight, p=0.04), with a higher sleeping metabolic rate. Insulin sensitivity, mitochondrial function, liver and muscle lipid, cardiac energy status, blood pressure and inflammation markers were all unchanged.
