Modulatory effects of BPC 157 on vasomotor tone and the activation of Src-Caveolin-1-endothelial nitric oxide synthase pathway

Hsieh MJ, Lee CH, Chueh HY, Chang GJ, Huang HY, Lin Y, Pang JS · Scientific Reports

Preclinicalcounts toward this tier

Concentration-dependent vasodilation that largely disappeared without endothelium and was blocked by L-NAME or haemoglobin; BPC 157 phosphorylated Src, caveolin-1 and eNOS and reduced caveolin-1–eNOS binding, placing Src upstream of eNOS release.

Population
Isolated rat aorta with and without endothelium, and vascular endothelial cells
Intervention
BPC 157 across a concentration range, with L-NAME, haemoglobin or a Src inhibitor
Comparator
Vehicle; denuded vessels
Limitations
Ex vivo vessel and cell work; no injury model and no dosing relevance to human use.
