Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
Clopidogrel drove ulcer recurrence, ER-stress apoptosis (CHOP) and inflammation while suppressing VEGF-A, VEGFR1 and eNOS; BPC 157 reversed each of those, and L-NAME blunted the protection — nitric-oxide dependence demonstrated by a group with no connection to the originating laboratory.
- Population
- Sprague-Dawley rats with healed acetic-acid gastric ulcers, then given clopidogrel
- Intervention
- BPC 157 with clopidogrel, with or without L-NAME
- Comparator
- Clopidogrel alone; methylcellulose control
- Limitations
- Single independent replication of the NO-dependence claim, in a drug-injury rather than a healing model.
