Comment on "Nicotinamide mononucleotide increases muscle insulin sensitivity in prediabetic women"

Points out that the two arms were not balanced at baseline on a variable central to the mechanism: hepatic lipid content was 6.3 ± 1.2% in the 13 women given NMN versus 14.8 ± 2.0% in the 12 given placebo (p=0.003), and argues that with liver fat clearance a target of NMN this was not an effectively randomised trial.
