Anecdotalcounts toward this tier
The mechanism did not line up with the claimed effect: correlations between falling inflammatory biomarkers and improving clinical scores were weak and nonsignificant across all tools (KOOS, WOMAC, VAS) — the cohort's own data do not connect its anti-inflammatory story to its symptom result.
- Population
- Secondary analysis of the same 110-patient Sulaimani resveratrol-meloxicam cohort
- Intervention
- Correlation of changes in TNF-alpha, IL-1beta and IL-6 with changes in KOOS, WOMAC and VAS over the 90-day trial
- Comparator
- n/a (within-cohort correlation analysis)
- Limitations
- Secondary analysis of an already-questioned cohort; correlations unadjusted for age, gender and body weight (the authors say so). Full text read (open access).
