Comparative pharmacokinetics of Theracurmin, a highly bioavailable curcumin, in healthy adult subjects

Chung H, Yoon SH, Cho JY, Yeo HK, Shin D, Park JY · International Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics

Promisingcounts toward this tier

Theracurmin reached peak plasma concentration in 1.5-3 hours against 8 hours for curcumin powder, with exposure ratios of 18.4-20.5 for Cmax and 35.9-42.6 for AUC.

Population
Healthy adults, three-treatment six-sequence three-period crossover, South Korea
Intervention
Two Theracurmin submicron-dispersion products
Comparator
Unformulated curcumin powder
Limitations
Single dose in 24 healthy men with no clinical endpoint; the comparator is raw powder, the weakest possible reference, and it gave measurable levels in only 7 of 24, so the multiplier rests on a mixed model with missing data. Plasma was deconjugated before assay, so the figures are total rather than free curcumin. Sponsored by Handok, with one employee author.
