Promisingcounts toward this tier

Afternoon NMN produced the largest within-group improvements in the five-times sit-to-stand test (d=0.72) and in self-reported drowsiness (d=0.64). The sit-to-stand test improved in all four groups including both placebo arms, and the paper reports interaction effects rather than a clean NMN-versus-placebo difference.

Population
Older Japanese adults, randomised to four arms by treatment and time of day
Intervention
NMN 250 mg/day for 12 weeks, taken in the morning or the afternoon
Comparator
Placebo, morning or afternoon
Limitations
Four-arm split leaves about 27 per cell; outcomes are self-reported questionnaires plus one performance test that improved on placebo too. Supported by the NMN supplier, Mirailab Bioscience.
