Perovic D, Milavic M, Dokuzovic S, Seiwerth S, Sikiric P, et al. · Current Issues in Molecular Biology

Preclinicalcounts toward this tier

Treated animals showed only discrete oedema and minimal haemorrhage at 30 min with raised Nos1, Nos2 and Nos3; started at day 4, oral therapy still recovered tail function and no demyelination was seen on Luxol fast blue — recovery from an established, not only a fresh, lesion.

Population
Rats with sacrocaudal (S2–Co1) compression injury and tail paralysis, treated at 10 min or at day 4
Intervention
BPC 157 intraperitoneally, intragastrically, or per-orally in drinking water from day 4 for one month
Comparator
Untreated injury
Limitations
Originating network; three sub-experiments with small groups reported together, and outcome scoring is descriptive.
