Improvement of tissue-specific distribution and biotransformation potential of nicotinamide mononucleotide in combination with ginsenosides or resveratrol

Bai LB, Yau LF, Tong TT, Chan WH, Zhang W, Jiang ZH · Pharmacology Research & Perspectives

Preclinicalcounts toward this tier

The only direct test of the NMN-plus-resveratrol pairing found: in healthy mice the combination raised NAD+ 1.59-fold in heart and 1.72-fold in skeletal muscle compared with NMN alone (both p<0.001). Joint tissue was not among the six tissues measured.

Population
Healthy mice; NAD+ measured in brain, heart, kidney, liver, lung and muscle
Intervention
Oral NMN 500 mg/kg plus resveratrol 50 mg/kg (or ginsenosides Rh2&Rg3)
Comparator
Oral NMN alone
Limitations
Healthy-mouse pharmacokinetics with no disease model and no functional endpoint; nothing measured in cartilage or any joint; single dosing regimen. Full text read.
