Igarashi M, Nakagawa-Nagahama Y, Miura M, et al. · NPJ Aging

Promisingcounts toward this tier

Blood NAD+ and its metabolites rose significantly on NMN; gait speed and left-hand grip strength showed only nominally significant improvements the authors themselves flag as needing validation, and body composition did not change. No joint outcomes were measured.

Population
Healthy men aged 65 or older
Intervention
NMN 250 mg/day orally for 6 or 12 weeks
Comparator
Placebo
Limitations
Three authors are employees of Mitsubishi Corporation Life Sciences (the NMN supplier); data from 22 of the 42 randomized participants were excluded from analyses, which the authors note disrupted the baseline adjustment between groups. Full text read.
