Liu X, Virk S, Fedorova T, et al. · Osteoarthritis and Cartilage Open

Anecdotalcounts toward this tier

Knee pain NRS fell from 6.4 to ~4.2–4.4 and LDL modestly decreased, but with no placebo arm the pain result is uninterpretable given OA's large placebo response.

Population
Adults with knee OA plus hypercholesterolemia
Intervention
Oral PPS 10 mg/kg every 4 days, two 5-week cycles
Comparator
None (single-arm, open-label)
Limitations
Uncontrolled, open-label, small; pain was a secondary outcome.
