Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
Senescent chondrocytes showed raised p16, p21, p53, TNF-alpha and IL-1-alpha and lowered Sirt1; both peptides moved those markers back toward the young-cell pattern. This is the only indexed study of either substance in chondrocytes themselves.
- Population
- Human chondrocyte cultures showing the senescence-associated secretory phenotype
- Intervention
- AED tripeptide (Cartalax) and the cartilage polypeptide complex (CPC, the Sigumir substance)
- Comparator
- Untreated senescent chondrocytes
- Limitations
- Institute-authored; Russian-language institute-linked journal; secretory-marker readouts only, with no matrix-synthesis or mechanical endpoint; no numbers in the indexed abstract.
