Promisingcounts toward this tier
At 24 months both groups improved substantially (VAS about 8 to about 2; IKDC about 37 to about 75) with 71-90% returning to pre-injury activity; concurrent ACL reconstruction did not worsen results.
- Population
- 48 patients with focal chondral lesions, 24 with concomitant ACL reconstruction and 24 without (CEMTRO, Madrid)
- Intervention
- High-density ACI (with or without ACL reconstruction)
- Comparator
- HD-ACI without ACL reconstruction (internal comparison)
- Limitations
- Small non-randomized comparison, single center, same developing group; 2-year horizon.
