Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
Oral therapy produced reattachment on ultrasound, MRI, biomechanical and gait measures; by three months reattachment fibres could be traced into newly formed cortical bone at the surface, with muscle fibres oriented parallel to and in contact with the bone.
- Population
- Rats with complete (rectus) and partial (vastus) quadriceps muscle-to-bone detachment, followed to 90 days
- Intervention
- BPC 157 10 µg/kg/day or 10 ng/kg/day per-orally
- Comparator
- Untreated detachment, which showed permanent knee flexure and impaired walking
- Limitations
- Originating network; no blinded assessment reported, and imaging and histology carry the claim rather than a load-to-failure comparison.
