Coronary calcium scores rose in both arms but less on MK-7: median 145 to 214 Agatston units on placebo against 135 to 184 on MK-7 over two years (P=0.02, robust to covariate adjustment), with plasma MK-7 rising from 0.50 to 6.56 ug/L and no significant adverse effects. The increase tracked non-calcified plaques becoming partly calcified, so what the finding means for plaque stability is unsettled.
