Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
The canonical survey of where MSM and its precursor occur naturally in the food supply — and its scope is the answer to a common claim: fruits, vegetables, grains and beverages. No meat, bone, connective tissue or stock was examined, and no analytical study since has measured MSM in any of them.
- Population
- Selected fruits, vegetables, grains and beverages (analytical survey, no subjects)
- Intervention
- Measurement of naturally occurring dimethyl sulfoxide and dimethyl sulfone levels in foods
- Limitations
- No abstract is indexed in PubMed, so the individual per-food concentrations circulating in secondary sources could not be verified here from the primary text; cite those figures as secondary. Establishes scope, not joint relevance.
