Preclinicalcounts toward this tier
Mast-cell infiltration was prevented at 1 hour at both doses, but only the 10 µg/kg dose significantly reduced polymorphonuclear infiltration, and a dose-dependent separation appeared only for that measure at 12 hours — one of the few records where the two standard doses did not behave identically.
- Population
- Wistar rats given intranasal capsaicin, assessed at 1, 3 and 12 hours
- Intervention
- BPC 157 10 µg/kg or 10 ng/kg i.p. as pretreatment
- Comparator
- Saline
- Limitations
- Small 1997 study scoring histology only; a Zagreb hospital ENT department, though outside the pharmacology group that produced most of the corpus.
